General Purpose
The Area Supervisor is a key member of the Store Leadership team, responsible for a specific area of the store and for overall store operations when acting as Manager on Duty. They oversee opening and closing the store, supervise associates, and ensure a friendly, organized shopping environment. Responsibilities include merchandise presentation, maintaining cleanliness, and executing operational processes.
Essential Functions
Maintaining Safe & Secure Environments:
- Prioritize safety and practice safe behaviors.
- Maintain awareness on the sales floor to ensure safety and security, reporting unsafe conditions.
- Secure the building, including controlling entrances/exits, checking EAS devices, and managing security of the Cash Office and other sensitive areas.
- Ensure clear egress routes and safety for customers and staff, including emergency procedures and fire alarm testing.
Customer Service:
- Respect all customers, associates, and leaders.
- Demonstrate professionalism and recognize associates through company programs.
Personal and Store Brand:
- Represent the company brand professionally.
- Maintain store cleanliness and merchandising standards.
- Manage daily trash removal.
General Merchandising:
- Ensure recovery, sizing, markdowns, and merchandise processing meet standards.
- Handle merchandise receipt and organization, including back stock management.
- Support merchandise placement and promotional signage.
Loss Prevention:
- Follow loss prevention protocols, engaging customers and staff.
- Safeguard confidential information and merchandise.
- Maintain PVM system and conduct inspections.
Front End Operations:
- Ensure front-end standards and customer flow efficiency.
- Train and coach associates on register procedures and security.
- Manage equipment and supplies, and ensure merchandise salability.
Fitting Rooms:
- Maintain cleanliness and security of fitting rooms.
- Audit and process returned merchandise properly.
Administrative Duties:
- Handle cash pulls, deposits, and payroll tasks.
- Follow policies on refunds, tills, and scheduling.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Store Manager.

Qualifications and Skills
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Fluency in English.
- Previous customer service and supervisory experience preferred.
- Familiarity with POS systems.
- Basic math skills.
- Availability to work evenings and weekends.
Physical Requirements & ADA
Ability to operate store equipment, stand and move throughout the store, and lift up to 25 lbs., with some roles requiring lifting over 20 lbs. for stockroom shifts.
