Area Supervisor - Snow Removal (Queens & Brooklyn)
Donovan Property Service is seeking a dedicated Area Supervisor to lead snow removal operations throughout the Queens and Brooklyn boroughs for the upcoming winter season. As a key member of our team, you will oversee crews responsible for plowing, shoveling, and deicing commercial and industrial properties across your assigned territory.
This is a seasonal, on-call position with work scheduled around winter storm events, including nights, early mornings, weekends, and holidays. Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise teams of plow truck drivers, sidewalk crew members, and equipment operators during winter storm events.
- Oversee snow removal operations across commercial and industrial properties throughout Queens and Brooklyn.
- Conduct pre-season site inspections and ensure all equipment and materials are delivered and ready for use.
- Hire, train, and prepare seasonal crew members for winter operations.
- Plan routes and review site-specific requirements with crews to ensure high-quality service and safety standards.
- Perform equipment readiness checks and coordinate repairs as needed.
- Monitor crew performance, provide updates to management, and conduct field inspections of completed work.
- Schedule truck pickups and manage logistics for crew assignments and equipment needs.
- Troubleshoot field issues and adjust staffing or assignments as necessary during active storms.
- Ensure crews are fully equipped before dispatch, including salt, deicing materials, and necessary tools.
- Be available for on-call scheduling, including overnight, weekend, and holiday shifts based on weather conditions.
Qualifications
- Prior snow removal experience required.
- Experience supervising or managing crews in snow removal, landscaping, construction, facilities management, or a related field preferred.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Commercial Driver's License (CDL) preferred.
- Ability to travel throughout Queens and Brooklyn during shifts.
- Familiarity with the roadways and neighborhoods within the boroughs is a plus.
- Strong communication and leadership skills to coordinate effectively with crews and management.
- Ability to work outdoors in winter weather while maintaining a strong focus on safety.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage logistics, staffing, and equipment in a fast-paced environment.
- Available for weather-dependent, on-call scheduling, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be at least 18 years old and legally authorized to work in the United States.
Compensation
$35-$40 per hour, based on experience.
