GENERAL PURPOSE:

The Area Supervisor is part of the Store Leadership team, responsible for an assigned store area and the overall store operations when acting as Manager on Duty. Responsibilities include opening and closing the store, supervising associates, maintaining a friendly shopping environment, ensuring merchandise presentation, and maintaining cleanliness. They also execute and supervise operational processes as needed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Maintaining Safe & Secure Environments:
  • Prioritize safety, practicing safe behaviors at all times.
  • Maintain awareness on the sales floor to ensure a safe shopping environment; report unsafe conditions.
  • Secure the building, monitor EAS devices, cash office, armored carrier pickups, and register area.
  • Keep exits clear and safe, and respond to emergency alarms.
Customer Service:
  • Treat all customers, associates, and leaders with respect.
  • Demonstrate courtesy and professionalism; recognize associates' efforts.
Personal and Store Brand:
  • Represent and support the company's brand and maintain a professional appearance.
  • Ensure store cleanliness, proper merchandising, and daily trash removal.
General Merchandising:
  • Ensure recovery, sizing, and markdowns meet standards.
  • Manage merchandise receipt, processing, and organization.
  • Assist with merchandising, back-stock, and loss reduction.
Loss Prevention:
  • Follow Loss Prevention programs, safeguard confidential information, and maintain security systems.
  • Conduct inspections and execute best practices to minimize loss.
Front End Supervision and Operations:
  • Maximize productivity at the front end, manage lines, and train associates.
  • Ensure equipment functionality and proper supplies.
Fitting Rooms:
  • Maintain cleanliness and proper tagging of garments.
Administrative Duties:
  • Manage cash pulls, deposits, payroll, and other duties as assigned.
COMPETENCIES:
  • Work process management, business acumen, planning, talent building, collaboration, leadership by example, effective communication, accountability, and execution.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
  • Excellent communication skills, fluency in English.
  • Previous customer service and supervisory experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with POS systems, basic math skills.
  • Availability to work evenings and weekends.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ADA:

Ability to use store equipment, stand, walk, bend, lift over 25 lbs, and work in various physical positions as needed.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Retail associates and stockroom leads where applicable.
