Job Description

Amazon Corporate Security is seeking an experienced, self-motivated security leader who embodies Amazon’s Leadership Principles, especially Customer Obsession, Ownership, Earn Trust, and Bias for Action. The successful candidate will serve as an Area Security Manager for Subsidiaries in the Eastern U.S., reporting to a Regional Security Manager and leading a team of security experts. This role involves implementing all elements of the Corporate Security program across all Amazon corporate locations within the area of responsibility.

The Area Security Manager supports daily security operations across multiple sites, conducts security assessments, manages incidents and crisis responses, provides security consultancy, develops security plans, and manages guarding and access control programs.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality security services ensuring safety of employees, contractors, and visitors.
• Manage daily security operations for diverse sites with unique requirements.
• Develop and improve security policies, plans, and programs.
• Coordinate incident response and address security concerns.
• Monitor external threats and implement risk mitigation measures.
• Align security metrics and strategic goals across the region.
• Build trust with stakeholders through engagement and communication.
• Act as a trusted security advisor and SME, providing timely and accurate communication.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners, including law enforcement.

Daily Activities

• Oversee guarding operations, ensuring service quality and cost efficiency.
• Develop performance metrics and monitor site performance.
• Conduct security assessments and implement corrective measures.
• Lead security drills and readiness activities.
• Manage incident investigations and support organizational safety initiatives.
• Coordinate security support for events and maintain business continuity plans.

Team and Company Overview

The Global Corporate Security team manages security operations worldwide, divided into three regions, working together to protect Amazon’s people and assets.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in relevant fields or equivalent experience.
• At least 7 years of security experience in a large or global organization, including management.
• Experience managing vendors and service providers.
• Knowledge of security operations, risk management, and crisis communication.
• Experience in security standards, SOPs, and incident investigation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree or relevant certifications (CPP, PSP, CISSP, PMP).
• Experience in physical security, security policies, and high-rise security oversight.
• Ability to travel up to 40%, develop metrics, and conduct trend analysis.
• Skills in security training, business continuity, and threat intelligence.
• Proficiency with collaboration tools like SharePoint, Tableau, etc., and understanding of legal and budgetary aspects.
