Job summary

Medtronic seeks an Area Sales Manager to drive sales and support in Knoxville, TN, with extensive travel (75%). You will partner with the National Sales Leader to identify market opportunities, promote Neurovascular products, and build physician and hospital relationships.

The Area Sales Manager (ASM) serves within the Sales organization reporting directly to their assigned National Sales Leader. The ASM is responsible for sales and customer support in their assigned territory. In the performance of their duties, the ASM will be responsible for meeting assigned territory sales objectives, developing relationships with physician customers and hospital personnel, and supporting the region as needed to ensure growth goals are achieved. This is a field-based position in Knoxville, TN and 75% travel is expected for this role.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Works closely with the National Sales Leader to identify and evaluate market opportunities, sales potential by account, and establish and achieve annual sales objectives
  • Develops and implements sales strategies and tactics by determining the relevant factors (e.g., products, competition, and pricing needs) of existing and potential accounts to effectively promote Scientia’s products
  • Completes a thorough analysis of the territory and identifies key target accounts, while monitoring competitive activities by gathering current marketplace information
  • Collaborates with the National Sales Manager on contracts, pricing, and vendor documentation requirements for hospital and institutional customers
  • Implements and executes the launch strategies developed by the Vice President of Sales while providing product introductions and in-services for customers
  • Maintains clinical and technical expertise through company training sessions, on-the-job training, educational workshops, professional publications, personal networks, and professional societies
  • Takes the initiative to expand clinical, technical, and business knowledge
  • Prepares and submits reports to sales management by analyzing territory sales and customer data as well as sales projections
  • Can effectively communicate to all levels within the hospital and Scientia Leadership
  • Complies with all company, hospital/institution, and Advised guidelines for compliance and professional conduct
  • Understands the business environment and relates experience and knowledge, while exercising independent judgment and decision‑making
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree and minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with 0 years of experience
  • Proficiency using CRM tools
  • Valid driver's license and active vehicle insurance policy
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous sales rep experience with Neuroguard and strong vascular device knowledge
  • Experience in medical device sales, focused heavily on interventional stroke procedures
  • Experience selling medical devices in Neurovascular space
  • For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8C.F.R. §214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):125000-125000 The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
