Area Sales Manager – Florida Position Summary

Folio Wine is actively seeking an Area Sales Manager (ASM) for the Florida Market, this role is responsible for leading sales execution across the entire state. The Area Sales Manager is focused on developing distributor relationships, achieving sales and distribution goals, building brand equity in the market, and managing a strategic mix of on-and off-premise accounts.

The right candidate has a proven track record in sales, within the wine and spirits industry, possesses strong relationship-building skills and a deep understanding of the Florida market. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently while also thriving as part of a collaborative team, is creative, resourceful and has excellent sales skills, communication skills and will serve as a key leader of Folio’s portfolio in the Florida Market.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies with distributors and large customers, including development of pricing and programming calendars in conjunction with the marketing team.
  • Lead and manage relationships with distributor teams, including sales reps, and management.
  • Develop and execute annual market plans, promotional calendars, and volume targets for each state or market.
  • Monitor and report on inventory levels, pricing, and programming compliance.
  • Drive new points of distribution and velocity across priority brands.
  • Conduct regular market work-withs, top account visits, and targeted sales blitzes.
  • Maintain relationships with influential buyers, sommeliers, and retailers to strengthen Folio’s position in key accounts.
  • Lead, direct and manage local team of Market Sales Managers
  • Collaborate with cross-functional internal teams to align marketing, logistics, and financial strategies to market realities.
  • Deliver monthly performance updates and field insights to the Sales Director and National Accounts Team.
  • Be a passionate storyteller of Folio’s portfolio.
  • Conduct in-market events, educational tastings, and wine dinners.
  • Team up with marketing to host events that engage consumers and elevate the brand. Help create buzz in your market with local initiatives and creative programs,
  • Support national brand initiatives and launch plans at the regional level.
  • Plan and execute top tier supplier market visits to drive sales and demonstrate Folio market expertise to our network of global suppliers.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in the wine industry, with at least 2+ years in a multi-state or regional sales management role
  • Deep understanding of the wholesale model, distributor structures, and wine market dynamics
  • Strong relationships with distributor teams and top trade accounts in the territory
  • Experience managing budgets, pricing, programs, and depletion reporting
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and negotiation skills
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, with the ability to work independently and lead through influence
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to balance multiple demands, prioritize tasks, and retain clear focus
  • Proficiency with Microsoft, Excel, CRM systems (BI, VIP), and data analysis tools
  • WSET certification, or comparable wine education is a plus
  • Willingness to travel (up to 30%) within the assigned region, national and international
  • Remote office/Field Role/Occasional weekends/evenings required
  • Must live in or near Miami/South FL
