Job summary

Google is seeking an Area Program Manager for Environmental, Health and Safety Construction to lead complex, multi-disciplinary programs across Richmond area construction projects.

You will develop and deploy EHS initiatives, coordinate with general contractors and internal partners, track metrics, manage risks, and ensure on-time delivery while maintaining safety and compliance.

This role emphasizes collaboration across offices and time zones to protect people, environment and assets.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Lead development and ownership of the EHS program for area construction oversight and data collection.
• Ensure contractors deliver on program safety performance and contract requirements providing timely solutions to issues.
• Monitor, advise and assist the construction project teams to protect people, environment and ensure compliance.
• Drive a culture that embraces a continuous learning approach and aligns with organizational strategies including goals and objectives.
• Liaise with the wider Construction EHS team to ensure best practices are fully and completely implemented, progress reported, trends and data captured, analyzed and risks mitigated to an acceptable level ensuring that the operational capacity of a live Data Center is not compromised.

Google Data Centers (GDC) makes up one of the largest and most powerful computing infrastructures on the planet. As a member of the CSRM Construction EHS team, you will be responsible for supporting the EHS construction program and team. You will play a critical role by working collaboratively with cross functional teams across GDC and contractors to protect Google’s interests.

This role will be responsible for the design, development and deployment of EHS programs and initiatives across a defined area. You will work directly with GDC partners, general contractors, electrical/mechanical trades and organizations, key integrators, fabricators, and commissioning agents to improve the EHS programs and performance on our projects. You will engage in pre-qualification evaluations of potential vendors, update the project manual, and communicate EHS expectations. You will be involved in strategic planning, risk mitigation and on-time delivery. You will be responsible for establishing and tracking a set of performance metrics, developing best practices, and reporting out to stakeholders to help the organization scale efficiently.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $159000 - $230000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits
