University of Iowa Health Care – North Liberty Campus is seeking an Area Mechanic to operate buildings and equipment in the assigned area and perform skilled maintenance on mechanical systems.

The role requires knowledge of plumbing, electrical, steam, and mechanical systems, plus four years of craft experience. Schedule is 100% full-time with night hours and rotating weekends/holidays, located at Medical Center North Liberty.

Qualifikationen

• Must possess a basic knowledge of plumbing, electricity, maintenance of steam and mechanical equipment.
• Must have four years of work experience in the listed crafts, including apprenticeship or technical training.

• Perform inspections of electrical, mechanical, steam and plumbing equipment to determine operating efficiency and locate malfunctions.
• Troubleshoot and repair malfunctions on electrical equipment, appliances, lighting, plumbing and HVAC controls.
• Conduct preventive maintenance procedures: lubrication, cleaning, filter changes, adjustments and part replacements.
• Check and close out shop work orders; report to the appropriate office after completion.
• Inspect building systems for carpentry, painting, roofing, masonry, and plastering to determine corrective actions.
• Maintain effective communication with personnel across shops for maintenance and occupant comfort.
• Maintain operating inventory of spare parts, filters, belts and supplies.
• Train apprentices, replacements, and other personnel.

Area Mechanic - 3rd Shift - North Liberty Hospital

University of Iowa Health Care - Medical Center North Liberty department of Engineering is seeking an Area Mechanic who has initial responsibility for operation of all buildings and equipment in assigned area and performing skilled tasks in the inspection, maintenance and repair of mechanical systems, facility maintenance, and operation.

Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities:

Applies all necessary safety precautions in working with electrical, steam, or mechanical equipment.

Performs inspections of electrical, mechanical, steam and plumbing equipment in assigned areas on a periodic basis in order to determine the degree of operating efficiency and to locate and alleviate potential malfunctions.

Troubleshoots and repairs malfunctions on electrical equipment, appliances, light fixtures, plumbing fixtures, heating, airconditioningand ventilating equipment controls in assigned area.

Performs and reports on specific written preventive maintenance procedures (such as lubrication, cleaning, changing filters,making adjustments, and replacing parts) on electrical, mechanical, plumbing and steam equipment in assignedarea.

Checks accomplishment of shop work orders and returns them to theappropriate officeafter work is completed.

Inspects and reports building problems involving carpentry, painting, roof, masonry, and plastering in assigned area in order to determine corrective methods.

Establishes andmaintainseffective communications with personnellocatedin assigned area and within his/her own and other shops relative to building maintenance and occupant comfort.

Maintains operating inventory of necessary spare repair parts, filters,beltsand other supplies.

Trainsshopapprentices, replacements, and other personnel.

Hourly : $23.81 to commensurate
Hours: Monday-Friday 11:00pm-7:30am with rotating weekends and holidays
