An established industry player is seeking an Area Master Gardener Coordinator to lead and coordinate the Master Gardener Program across multiple counties in south-central Pennsylvania. APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS:
Penn State Extension is hiring an Area Master Gardener Coordinator - Area C (south-central Pennsylvania). This individual will work with Penn State Extension's Master Gardener Programs in Adams, Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin, Fulton, Huntingdon, Juniata, Mifflin, Lancaster, Lebanon, Perry, Schuylkill, and York counties, with additional statewide responsibilities.
The role involves providing regional leadership and coordination for the Master Gardener Program through collaboration with the State Master Gardener Coordinator, County Master Gardener Coordinators, volunteers, Extension Educators, faculty, and administrators. Responsibilities include supervising county coordinators, supporting program growth through training and communication, and developing funding sources including grants and contracts.
This position offers hybrid work arrangements; the base office must be located within the geographic area served.

Minimum requirements: a master's degree and at least eight years of relevant experience in horticulture or related fields, including 3+ years of supervisory experience. Experience in volunteer management, leadership development, community partnerships, and strong communication skills are essential. Computer literacy in Microsoft Office is required. A valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle are necessary, with travel expected within the geographic area.
Preference will be given to candidates with volunteer management experience, horticulture background, adult education experience, and proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint, and databases.
