OnTrac Logistics, Inc. in Dayton, NJ is hiring an Area Manager to oversee all sort activities within an assigned area.

You will manage a team of Package Handlers and Lead Package Handlers onsite, drive safety, productivity, and process improvements, and report to the facility’s Operations Manager. The role requires leadership experience in logistics, strong data-interpretation skills, and proficient Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• GED/Diploma required; BA/BS preferred
• At least 2 years in logistics/shipping/3PL with 1+ year leadership
• Ability to evaluate and summarize data; present findings
• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills
• Effective communication; provide feedback
• Experience with hiring, training, motivating, disciplining, and evaluating employees

Responsibilities

• Manage staffing and schedule Package Handlers and Lead Package Handlers in an assigned area
• Monitor progress, provide ongoing feedback, identify areas for improvement
• Conduct pre-sort meetings and communicate daily goals and safety priorities
• Record and manage departures/arrivals and volume flow from Linehauls
• Execute administrative duties including safety training, audits, and end-of-shift reporting

2270 US Highway 130, Dayton, NJ 08010. This position is performed onsite at one of the Company’s operational facilities, unless otherwise specified in the job posting.

Compensation:

The expected starting base pay range for this position is $59,840 - $74,800,with full potential base salary range over a successful candidate’s tenure in the position of $59,840- $89,760. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, internal equity, and other job-related factors.

Employment Logistics:

As an Area Manager for OnTrac, you will report directly to the Operations Manager of the facility and be responsible for managing all the sort activities and volume within an assigned area. In addition, you will be responsible for identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing change to enhance business outcomes within the operation.

The Must-Haves:

• GED/Diploma required, BA/BS college degree in related discipline preferred
• A minimum of 2 years of industry experience – (ex. logistics, shipping, 3PL) with at least 1 year of demonstrated leadership experience
• Ability to effectively evaluate and summarize data and present answers to questions
• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft office and mathematical skills
• Effective communication skills including the ability to give honest, constructive feedback
• Experience with hiring, training, motivating, disciplining, and completing performance evaluations for employees

Your Mission in Motion:

• Manage, staff and schedule a team of Package Handlers and Lead Package Handlers in an assigned area in the facility to ensure quality standards while maintaining a safe and efficient working environment.
• Monitor employee progress, provide ongoing feedback, identify areas for improvement, and address performance/attendance.
• Conduct pre-sort meetings, keeping employees informed of daily goals, upcoming events, and safety priorities. Maintain an open line of communication to engage employees.
• Record and manage the departures/arrivals of and the flow of volume from designated Linehauls.
• Execute various administrative duties, including but not limited to, safety training, operational audits, and end of shift reporting.

The salary range above represents the national range for this position.
