Job Description

Job Title: Area Manager - Public & General Customers

Location: Vietnam, Central

About the role:

The Vaccine Business Unit (VBU) at Takeda Vietnam carries the mission of protecting Vietnamese people against dengue fever, a disease which remains a high burden to healthcare systems globally as well as in the country.

The Area Manager (AM) – Public and General Customers will play a critical role in driving the defined strategy of Vaccine BU towards sustainable growth of Takeda’s Dengue Vaccine in Vietnam, focusing on public sector customers and other general accounts in the private sector.

How you will contribute:
  • Lead and develop a team of Medical Representatives covering provinces in North & North Central or Central & Highland, with the territory expanding based on business growth.

  • Coach and train medical representatives on technical and soft skills efficiently.

  • Provide ongoing coaching, guidance, feedback, and support to maximize team performance.

  • Build a high-performance team and nurture talent for Takeda.

  • Ensure team members align with Takeda’s values and conduct all commercial engagements ethically and compliantly.

Customer Management & Territory Planning
  • Act as the primary contact for assigned customers/KOLs/HCPs, addressing queries related to company products.

  • Collaborate with NCM to establish engagement plans for KOLs and HCPs.

  • Develop quarterly territory plans aligned with overall business and brand strategies.

  • Lead and coach MRs to build strong, long-lasting relationships with customers and partners.

  • Coordinate with the Commercial team, marketing, and medical to maintain Takeda’s positive image nationwide.

  • Monitor market trends, regulations, customer insights, and product performance to inform planning and strategy.

Commercial Performance Excellence
  • Set SMART KPIs for the team and drive a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

  • Align team activities with BU objectives and marketing plans.

  • Ensure high standards in commercial activities at HCOs and vaccination centers.

  • Manage tender processes and collaborate with NCM, marketing, and Commercial Excellence colleagues for forecasting and data analysis.

Qualifications and Skills:
  • University degree in medicine or pharmacy (mandatory).

  • At least 5 years of pharmaceutical industry experience, managing KOLs and key accounts.

  • Strong compliance mindset.

  • Excellent Vietnamese communication and presentation skills.

  • People leadership experience is advantageous.

  • Experience in vaccines is preferred.

  • Proficiency in English (verbal & written).
