Qualifications

  • MO EMT License (preferred) or ability to obtain within 12 months of employment.
  • Capable of working all shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Professional, self-motivated, able to multi-task with an enthusiastic attitude.
  • Strong teamwork skills and ability to work with others.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct accident investigations to determine root causes of incidents for guests and staff.
  • Assist in litigation claims: reporting, investigating and maintaining files on potential claims and lawsuits.
  • Interpret, implement and update Safety and Emergency procedures and related policies.
  • Communicate with Park management and Team Members on safety threats or issues.
  • Meet and review Emergency Response Procedures with local, county, state and federal agencies regularly.
  • Develop training programs for Park leadership and Public Safety employees; coordinate simulations with agencies.
  • Coordinate with other departments to manage guest and team member entry/exit in safety contexts.
  • Assist in maintaining Public Safety budgets and ensure departmental spending stays within budget.
  • Implement and maintain Public Safety manuals; ensure trainings are completed and audited.
  • Serve as Park Guest Service Ambassador and address guest concerns.
  • Manage staffing functions: recruitment, scheduling, and workforce planning; maintain staffing levels.
  • Oversee development and maintenance of departmental training programs to support performance and compliance.

Summary of Job

The Area Manager of Safety serves as a frontline leader with primary responsibility for our Safety and First Aid operations, including emergency medical response, safety training, regulatory compliance, and incident management. While the position also oversees Security and Loss Prevention activities, the primary focus is ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of guests and employees. The successful candidate must possess, or be able to obtain, the necessary certifications and licenses required to lead emergency response efforts and support the overall Public Safety operation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Conduct accident investigations to determine the root cause of guest and employee incidents. Routinely inspect all areas for hazards and other security related risks.
  • Assist in all litigation claims: reporting, investigating and maintaining files on potential claims, active claims, and lawsuits against the Park.
  • Interpret, implement and update the Safety Compliance Manual, Emergency Response Manual, First Aid Standard Operating Procedures, First Aid Patient Care Protocols and support Corporate Safety and Health Standards.
  • Communicate with Park management and Team Members on any Safety and/or Security threats that exist or may come to exist.
  • Meet and review Emergency Response Procedures with local, county, state and federal agencies on a periodic basis.
  • Develop training program for Park leadership and Public Safety employees. Coordinate scaled emergency response simulations in conjunction with local, county, state, and federal agencies.
  • Coordinate with other departments to proactively manage team member and guest entry/exit experience.
  • Assist in maintaining the Public Safety departments' expense and labor budgets. Ensure departments are operating within outlined budget.
  • Implement and maintain the Public Safety manuals. Ensure all trainings are completed while reviewing training courses annually and auditing staff regularly.
  • Serve as Park Guest Service Ambassador and work to resolve all concerns brought to your attention.
  • Responsible for all departmental staffing functions, including recruitment, hiring, scheduling, workforce planning, and maintaining adequate staffing levels. Oversees the development, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of departmental training programs to support employee performance, compliance, and professional development.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications
