Job summary

Stake Center Locating, Inc. is seeking an Area Manager, Locate to supervise Locate Supervisors and oversee workload distribution while maintaining strong customer relations. The role requires coordination with Corporate and oversight of field operations, including IT/purchasing and safety compliance.

Travel and extended hours may be required. Applicants should demonstrate effective leadership in the locating industry, excellent communication, and the ability to mentor staff, conduct damage

Qualifications

• Must be at least eighteen years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Clean background check for access to restricted and/or controlled areas.
• Valid driver license with acceptable driving record.
• Ability to pass random drug screens and to remain drug free.
• Ability to locate.
• Ability to effectively perform a PDR or damage investigation.
• Ability to interact with all involved, the public, customers, contractors, utility representatives and all those under their direction.
• Excellent communication skills at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Supervision of Locate Supervisors.
• Oversight of workload distribution.
• Customer relations.
• Interaction with Corporate.
• IT and purchasing along with homeowners and the general public.
• Oversight of disciplinary action.
• Inspections of vehicles and equipment.
• Inventory ordering.
• Mentor Supervisors for performance improvement.
• Assist in damage resolution when necessary.
• Interpret all reports—i.e. PDR, audits and production.
• Assist in difficult locate jobs when necessary.
• Maintain force to load requirements.
• Performance Reviews for staff.
