Job summary

Amazon is seeking an Area Manager in Joliet, IL to lead a team of hourly associates and drive safety, quality, attendance, and performance on all shifts. You will partner with Safety, Engineering, Loss Prevention, QA, and HR to meet delivery promises and business objectives.

The role requires 2+ years of people management, a Bachelor's degree or equivalent, and the ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays. Prior lean or process-improvement experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of employee and performance management experience.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or 2+ years of Amazon (blue badge/FTE) experience.
• Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays.
• Experience leading 20+ employees and implementing lean improvements desired.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; degree in Engineering/Operations or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support, mentor, and motivate your hourly workforce.
• Manage safety, quality, productivity, and customer delivery promises.
• Collaborate with Safety, Engineering, Loss Prevention, Quality Assurance, HR to meet objectives.
• Lift up to 49 pounds and perform physical tasks as needed.
• Stand/walk for up to 12 hours during shifts; work in variable temperatures and weather.
• Assist in sites with stairs and outdoor loading areas.
