Job summary

Amazon is seeking an Area Manager in Rochester, NY to lead and develop a team in a fast-paced warehouse setting. You will mentor hourly associates, drive safety and performance, and maintain high levels of attendance and quality while navigating shift patterns and operational needs.

You will play a hands-on role on the floor, balancing staffing with volume, delivering coaching, and communicating progress to leadership across daily operations.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing or holding a bachelor’s or master’s degree.

Responsibilities

• Support, mentor and motivate 50-100 direct report Amazon Associates.
• Work independently and operate in an autonomous environment.
• Stand/walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours.
• Willing to regularly work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Oversee truck deliveries, handle and sort packages using pallet jacks, operate PIT equipment where applicable.
• Manage a dynamic environment with variable noise levels.
• Lift up to 49 pounds and perform routine physical tasks.
• Climb and descend stairs as required.
