Job summary

Amazon is hiring an Area Manager in Omaha, NE to lead a team of hourly associates and drive safety, quality and performance. You will engage your team during shifts to meet customer delivery promises and work cross-functionally with Safety, Engineering, HR, and Quality teams.

Qualifying candidates have 2+ years of people management or 2+ years with Amazon, a Bachelor's degree or equivalent, and the ability to work weekends, nights, and holidays.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of employee and performance management experience.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or 2+ years of Amazon experience.
• Flexibility to work weekends, nights, and holidays.
• 1+ years of performance metrics or lean techniques experience.
• Experience managing a team of 20+ employees.
• Experience with process improvements (Lean/Kaizen/Six Sigma).
• Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Operations, or related field.
• Industry experience across retail, manufacturing, logistics or distribution.

Responsibilities

• Support, mentor, and motivate your hourly workforce.
• Manage safety, quality, productivity, and delivery promises.
• Collaborate with Safety, Engineering, Loss Prevention, QA, HR to meet objectives.
• Lift up to 49 pounds and stand/walk during shifts up to 12 hours.
• Work in variable temperatures and weather; stairs in some sites.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and site performance.
