Job summary

Amazon.com Services LLC in Texas is seeking an Area Manager to lead a team of hourly associates at our San Antonio delivery station. You will drive safety, quality, attendance, and performance while ensuring customer orders are delivered on time and to the right location.

You will mentor staff, partner with Safety, Engineering, Loss Prevention, QA and HR to meet business goals, and support continuous improvement through Lean and Kaizen practices.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of employee and performance management experience.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or 2+ years of Amazon experience.
• Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays.
• 1+ years of performance metrics, process improvement or lean techniques experience.
• Experience managing a team of 20+ employees.
• Experience with process improvements (Lean process, Kaizen, and/or Six Sigma).
• Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain/Logistics, or a related field.
• Industry experience in: retail, F&B, military, manufacturing, automotive, biotech, electronics, energy, instrumentation, machinery, defense/aerospace, medical, cosmetics, production or distribution environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor hourly workforce to meet safety, quality, attendance, and performance.
• Ensure on-time delivery to customers and accurate location.
• Collaborate with Safety, Engineering, Loss Prevention, QA, HR to meet objectives.
• Maintain customer expectations for delivery promises.
• Support, mentor, and motivate hourly staff.
