The Area Manager oversees multiple residential homes and staff teams within an assigned region, providing leadership, operational oversight, and program support to ensure high-quality, person-centered services and compliance with state, licensing, and Medicaid requirements.
This role focuses on team leadership, staff development, program operations, compliance oversight, and problem-solving. The Area Manager partners with staff, leadership, individuals served, families, and community stakeholders to maintain smooth operations, support employee accountability, and ensure consistent, compliant care across all programs.
The Area Manager also plays a critical role in maintaining operational stability, addressing program concerns, and supporting individuals in making meaningful choices within community-based residential settings.
Program Leadership & Team Development:Supervise, coach, and support employees across assigned residential programs while promoting accountability, teamwork, professional development, and high-quality service delivery. Support hiring, onboarding, scheduling, training, and ongoing staff development initiatives across assigned programs.
Program Operations & Compliance:Oversee daily operations of multiple homes and programs to ensure services remain person-centered, compliant, and aligned with organizational standards, policies, licensing requirements, Medicaid Waiver regulations, and certification standards. Maintain readiness for audits, inspections, and licensing reviews.
Participant & Family Support:Promote individual choice, independence, and person-centered planning while assisting with operational, staffing, participant, and family concerns in a positive and professional manner.
Operational Performance & On-Call Support:Monitor staffing trends, program performance, operational needs, and fiscal responsibilities in partnership with leadership teams while participating in on-call rotation and responding to emergencies or operational concerns as needed.
Education:Bachelor’s degree in Human Servicesor a related field required, including Psychology, Counseling, Sociology, Allied Health, or Human Services
Experience:2–3+ years of experience supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, long-term care, or community-based services, including prior supervisory or management experience within residential or human services settings
Program Knowledge:Understanding of person-centeredsupports, compliance standards, andMedicaid Waiver or HCBS, CIH services preferred
Technical Skills:Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs and the ability to adapt to new technology platforms
Licensure & Transportation:Valid driver’s license with a driving record that meets agency insurance requirements
Industry Expertise:Experience supporting multi-site residential or community-based programs
Leadership Development:Experience with staff development, training coordination, or leadership mentoring
Regulatory Knowledge:Knowledge of Indiana-specific disability service regulations, including residential and community-based program standards
