Job summary

Stake Center Locating in Dallas, TX is seeking a Locate Technician to oversee workload distribution, maintain client relations, and coordinate with Corporate and field teams. The role includes vehicle and equipment inspections, inventory management, and mentoring supervisors to improve performance.

Responsibilities also include handling complex locate jobs, interpreting reports such as PDR/audits, and supporting damage resolution while ensuring proper staffing and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Oversight of workload distribution and staff performance.
• Manage customer relations and interface with Corporate.
• Coordinate IT and purchasing alongside homeowners and the public.
• Oversee inspections of vehicles and equipment and maintain inventory ordering.
• Mentor supervisors and support performance improvement.
• Assist in damage resolution and interpret reports (PDR, audits, production).
• Assist in difficult locate jobs and ensure adequate staffing.
• Maintain workforce to meet load requirements and conduct staff performance reviews.

Qualifications

• Must be at least eighteen years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Clean background check for access to restricted and/or controlled areas.
• Valid driver license with acceptable driving record.
• Ability to pass random drug screens and to remain drug free.
• Computer literate.
• Ability to locate.
• Ability to effectively perform a PDR or damage investigation.
• Ability to interact with all involved, the public, customers, contractors, utility representatives and all those under their direction.
• Excellent communication skills at all levels.

Requirements

• Experienced in effective leadership in the locating industry.

• Successfully complete company provided Locate Technician training program and pass all required testing.
• Requires long hours when necessary. May require weekend and holiday work when necessary.
• Some travel maybe required including overnight stays and out of town assignments and or training.
• Must have above average computer skills.
• Three to five years’ experience.
