Job summary

Clark Dietz, Inc. in Indianapolis seeks an experienced Area Manager for Central Indiana to lead multiple project teams across transportation, civil, environmental, and MEP disciplines. You will manage project performance, staffing, and client relationships while driving winning proposals.

The role emphasizes business development, QA/QC, revenue growth, and mentorship, with a flexible hybrid schedule and ESOP opportunity.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Civil Engineering and IN PE license are required.
• 15+ years of progressive experience managing projects and technical staff for public sector engineering projects.
• Ability to lead marketing efforts for multiple disciplines and project types throughout the Area.
• Experience with planning, design and construction of local roads, water, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, drainage, and building projects.
• Strong experience with project management functions including scope, schedule, budget, and QA/QC.

Responsibilities

• Manages the Area operations: project performance, sales, and staffing across multiple teams.
• Collaborates with PMs, BD, and Marketing to identify opportunities and build client relationships.
• Develops workload forecasts and ensures utilization and financial metrics are achieved.
• Works with other Areas for work sharing and multi-discipline pursuits.
• Ensures projects meet contract requirements and financial goals; assists with corrective actions.
• Oversees QA/QC, billing, and invoicing per guidelines.
• Mentors Team Leaders and PMs; supports staff development and promotions.
• Contributes to firm’s image through professional organizations and events; builds client networks.
• Acts as office manager for facilities, leases, and local events.
