About the Role

We are looking for an Area Manager who can own regional execution and lead a high‑performing driver community in one of the most demanding environments in business: live supply chain operations with real customers, real drivers, and real consequences.

This role is not dispatch or coordination. It is field leadership. Area Managers are accountable for end‑to‑end regional performance — shipment execution, driver reliability, service quality, safety, and platform adoption. You will operate in a chaotic, real‑time environment, make fast decisions with incomplete information, and step in when things break.

You will build and lead a strong driver community, set and enforce standards, coach performance, and drive adoption of Vorto’s platform and workflows. You will partner closely with the control tower, customers, and internal teams to resolve issues quickly and continuously raise the bar.

Success in this role requires ownership, judgment, calm under pressure, and the willingness to do whatever it takes to deliver results. If you want responsibility, autonomy, and a role where outcomes matter every day, this is it.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Own the end‑to‑end performance of shipments and driver operations within an assigned region — regional execution, service quality, and outcomes — with accountability for outcomes, not activities
  • Serve as a field‑level extension of the customer experience, ensuring drivers and operations reflect Vorto’s brand and commitments via the following:
  • Translate customer expectations into clear, executable standards for the driver community – professionalism, safety, customer service, and responsiveness
  • Build and lead a high‑performing driver community around these standards
  • Own onboarding, activation, and retention of carriers in the region
  • Actively shape and reinforce driver culture — rewarding high performers, addressing underperformance quickly (coaching and removing underperformers), and maintaining Vorto’s standards in the field
  • Work drivers out of manual processes by driving adoption of Vorto’s platform and workflows
  • Operate at the highest level in a chaotic, real‑time supply chain environment, managing disruptions and escalations calmly and quickly
  • Partner closely with the control tower to resolve issues and meet customer commitments
  • Build strong regional relationships with customers, suppliers, and facilities
  • Identify issues and drive process, system, or training improvements to raise performance
  • Take ownership of special projects, pilots, or regional initiatives as needed
  • Step into gaps without being asked — if something is broken in your region, you own fixing it
  • This is not a traditional logistics or dispatch role. It is a field leadership position requiring judgment, accountability, and execution in a high‑stakes, fast‑moving environment.
Qualifications/Skills:
  • Demonstrate a strong sense of urgency in all projects and an ability to prioritize and re‑prioritize as necessary.
  • Ability to multi‑task projects and required tasks in an organized fashion.
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as self‑motivated in individual projects.
  • Ability to communicate both verbally and written to all levels within and outside of the organization.
  • Strong attention to detail and critical thinking and problem‑solving skills.
  • Commitment to excellent customer service.
  • Ability to work a flexible 12‑hour day, Monday through Friday, and available weekends as needed.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).
Educational/Experience Requirements:
  • 3+ years of truck operations or related experience and/or training.
Compensation:

$100‑125k + Annual Bonus
