Job Overview

As the Area Manager (AM), your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Overseeing the management of multiple self-storage facilities, including supervising team members.
• Managing stores typically open 6 days a week, with AMs in the field 5 days a week, working hours from 9 am to 6 pm.
• Ensuring stores are staffed, properties are clean, customer needs are met, and calls are answered. Occasionally working at a store is expected.
• Coaching staff to provide excellent customer service focused on retention and rapport building.
• Creating monthly schedules to support business needs and covering shifts as needed.
• Ensuring staff completes new hire training and ongoing employee training compliance.
• Adhering to company standards and procedures, ensuring properties meet financial goals.
• Auditing stores for accurate bank records and policy compliance.
• Conducting monthly auctions and ensuring compliance with state lien laws.
• Monitoring facility maintenance to keep assets in good condition and represent NSA positively.
• Recruiting and interviewing for open positions.
• Overseeing contracts and licenses.
• Coaching, developing, managing performance, and mentoring staff.

Position Requirements

• Management experience with staff.
• Excellent time management and multi-tasking skills.
• Multi-unit property management experience preferred.
• Sales experience.
• Reliable vehicle, valid driver’s license, and insurance.
• Ability to pass and maintain a criminal background check.
• Physical activity including walking, stairs, lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Travel within region for property inspections.
• Ability to travel by car, plane, and inspect properties physically.
• Ability to work outside for extended periods in various weather conditions.
• Must reside within 20 miles of the area.
