Job summary

ABM Industries is seeking a dedicated operations manager to oversee client accounts and multi-site janitorial operations. You will maintain strong client relationships, conduct site visits, and collaborate with clients to tailor service delivery to their needs.

The role requires leadership, excellent communication, and the ability to manage budgets, staffing, and safety across multiple locations with daily travel within the Virginia region.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in janitorial, facilities, or operations management preferred.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and support frontline teams.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to conduct inspections, identify deficiencies, and implement corrective actions.
• Basic understanding of budgeting, labor management, and financial controls.
• Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, multi‑site environment with frequent travel.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.

Responsibilities

• Support hiring, onboarding, and training of frontline staff; provide coaching and performance feedback as needed.
• Ensure all employees follow safety procedures, proper use of equipment, and company policies.
• Oversee inventory levels for cleaning supplies, chemicals, and equipment at each site.
• Ensure timely ordering, distribution, and tracking of materials to support uninterrupted service delivery.
• Maintain awareness of site budgets, labor hours, and operational costs to ensure financial targets are met.
• Review and approve timesheets, schedules, and work orders.
• Assist with preparing cost estimates, proposals, and additional service quotes as needed.
• Monitor and manage work orders, ensuring timely completion and accurate billing.
