Job summary

Nordstrom in Portland seeks an Area Maintenance Manager to lead a team of MHE, controls, and support technicians in a 24/7 fulfillment environment. You will balance proactive planning with rapid problem resolution, manage preventative maintenance, and drive safe, reliable repairs using KPIs and metrics.

You'll report to the Maintenance Manager and collaborate with Operations to align maintenance with production schedules, develop budgets, and mentor staff while ensuring compliance with safety

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Mechanical/Industrial Eng or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience in mechanized distribution or manufacturing.
• 2+ years of direct leadership or supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Champion a safety-first culture and enforce lockout/tagout and electrical safety standards.
• Set goals, manage staffing and scheduling, and coordinate workloads to hit performance targets.
• Lead and coach a shift of technicians, driving growth and performance.
• Manage vendor performance and hold contractors to service-level expectations.
• Design and implement preventative maintenance programs to maximize equipment availability.
• Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
