Qualifications

• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Ability to read, speak, and understand English; Spanish is a plus.
• Basic management and decision-making skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of two years maintenance experience (healthcare setting preferred).
• Able to work in varying conditions, including outdoor or confined/unpleasant environments.
• Comfortable with exposure to body fluids and communicable diseases.
• Ability to lift, push, or pull 50–100 lbs. without assistance.

Responsibilities

• Schedules and oversees preventive maintenance, repairs, and replacements.
• Ensures compliance with regulations for skilled nursing facilities.
• Maintains professional relationships with staff, vendors, and inspectors.
• Conducts routine inspections of equipment, systems, and life safety measures.
• Leads facility emergency preparedness drills.
• Manages departmental budget under Administrator direction.
• Engages positively with residents.
• Supervises maintenance, housekeeping, and laundry staff, including hiring support.
• Safely operates hand tools and small power tools.
• Provides staff training on safety, fire protocols, and regulatory requirements.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.
