Volvo Cars Charleston Body Shop seeks an Area Leader - Manufacturing Engineering to coordinate process changes across projects within the body area. You will lead manufacturing system design and work with suppliers to improve producibility and reduce costs.

The role requires leadership, strong English communication, and strategic thinking to meet KPIs and safety standards. You will collaborate with central and local area leaders and manage planning and handover of equipment.

Formación

• University degree or similar experience
• Communication and negotiation skills
• Broad product and process knowledge within the body shop area
• Strong knowledge of MS-office and MS-project

Responsabilidades

• Design, integrate, or improve manufacturing systems or related processes.
• Lead equipment suppliers and line integrators to define production processes to increase producibility and reduce costs.
• Secure ME Body Industrialization deliveries from the defined area.
• Predict risks and escalate when needed.
• Close the gap to the Vision layout.
• Main contact for area turnkey contractor(s).
• Secure short and long-range planning.
• Fulfill project target KPIs.
• Lead and guide team members; provide direction where needed.
• Synchronize with Area Leader Central and Area Leader Local at all sites.
• Handover equipment to end user and manage lessons learned.
• Follow up supplier deliveries and RFQ quality.
• Ensure contract demands are fulfilled (cycle time, capacity, quality).
• Monitor MRQ investigations and cost follow up.
• Capitalization follow-up within area of responsibility.
• Summarize issues during Industrialization phase.
