Job summary

Volvo Cars Charleston Body Shop is seeking an Area Leader – Body to coordinate manufacturing engineering changes across sites, driving quality, lead time, cost, safety and changeover improvements. You will partner with suppliers and internal teams to secure successful industrialization.

The role requires strategic thinking, strong leadership, and excellent English, with responsibility for budgeting and cross-site alignment.

Qualifications

• University degree or similar experience.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Project management experience.
• Broad product and process knowledge within the body shop area.
• Excellent spoken and written English.

Responsibilities

• Secure ME Body Industrialization deliveries for the defined area.
• Predict risks early and escalate when needed.
• Work toward aligning with the Vision layout.
• Main contact for area turnkey contractors.
• Secure planning, both short and long range.
• Fulfill Project target KPI’s.
• Lead and guide team members with clear direction.
• Coordinate with Area Leader Central and Local across sites.
• Responsible for the area budget.
• Hand over equipment to end user.
• Capture lessons learned.
• Follow up on equipment suppliers’ deliveries and follow-up.
• Lead RFQ creation and its quality assurance.
• Ensure contract demands are fulfilled (cycle time, capacity, welding, etc.).
• Monitor MRQ investigations and cost follow up.
• Ensure capitalization is performed.
• Summarize issues during Industrialization phase.
