Job summary

Trane Technologies in Wisconsin seeks an Area General Manager to deliver profitable results, lead sales, and drive customer satisfaction across Milwaukee, Appleton, and Madison locations. You will manage the P&L and lead operations through a matrix structure.

This role requires a bachelor’s degree, 10 years HVAC or related experience, 5 years of sales management, and a valid driver's license. Competitive base pay and comprehensive benefits are offered.

• Minimum ten (10) years of HVAC industry or related experience is a plus.
• Minimum five (5) years of progressive sales managerial experience.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license for a minimum of 12 months, with no major or frequent traffic violations included.

• Leadership for customer and district sales management, new customer acquisition, customer satisfaction measurement, price management, marketing, maximizing account penetration, market penetration, customer retention, onboarding of new sales associates, training, quotas, forecasting and use of Trane tools.

What's In It For You

Trane is looking for a dynamic and compassionate Area General Manager, committed to delivering business results and continually fostering employee engagement. You will manage the P&L for the Milwaukee, Appleton and Madison, WI Commercial Sales Office locations. You will also provide leadership for Operations through a matrix management organizational structure.

What You Will Do

• Manage the annual and long-term development and delivery of financial results for the Sales Office. Responsible for achieving annual objectives regarding profit, volume, margins, business mix, and share for all business streams.
• Leadership for the following functions: customer and district sales management, new customer acquisition, customer satisfaction measurement, price management, marketing, maximizing account penetration, market penetration, customer retention, hiring and on-boarding of new sales associates, continual assessment of skills and administering necessary training, setting quotas, accurate sales forecasting and consistent use of Trane sales tools and systems.
• Assemble account teams and interact with Account Managers with differing business development requirements, customer focus, experience, sales cycles, and product portfolios.
• Responsible for sales office compliance with company policies, procedures, and operational integrity.
• Support human capital strategies such as employee engagement, recruitment and retention, and diversity and inclusion.

What You Will Bring

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, engineering technology, business or equivalent from a four-year college or university preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum ten (10) years of HVAC industry or related experience is a plus. Understanding of Energy Management Systems, or HVAC Systems and/or Temperature Controls, and/or Process Control Management is a plus.
• Minimum five (5) years of progressive sales managerial experience.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license for a minimum of 12 months, with no major or frequent traffic violations included, but not limited to: DUI, Hit & Run, License Suspension, Reckless/Careless Driving or multiple smaller infractions or preventable collisions in the previous 3 years.
