Job summary

Department of Mental Health in Massachusetts seeks an Area Facility Manager to coordinate DMH facilities area-wide, oversee maintenance programs, and manage staff and contracted work. The role covers electrical systems, building construction, fire and security systems, and capital projects with DCAMM to ensure safe, cost-effective patient care environments.

Responsibilities include budgeting, interagency collaboration, and ensuring compliance with fire/m environmental standards while supporting

Qualifications

• Broad knowledge of building construction and maintenance programs, including accreditation compliance and blueprints.
• Knowledge of hospital facility management and the ability to manage planning and building management processes.
• Knowledge of State financial, operating and bidding regulations including State construction and renovation laws.
• Knowledge of Americans with Disabilities Act, and the ability to manage a diverse workforce.
• Ability to prioritize objectives with rapid turnaround times.
• Given the population served, bilingual or multilingual fluency.

Responsibilities

• Effectively manage department programs with fiscal responsibility and controls over spending.
• Ensure campus operations have effective controls and interagency collaboration.
• Maintain hospital facility functions in good order with compliance to fire safety and environmental standards.
• Implement 5-year capital and equipment plans to support patient care areas.
• Represent DMH at interagency meetings regarding Capital Funding for repairs and maintenance.
• Provide professional growth and career advancement within facilities divisions.
