Qualifications

Pet Paradise is currently seeking an Area Facilities Manager to oversee maintenance operations and capital expenditures across the following locations, managing both maintenance employees and external vendors.

Atlanta Airport in College Park, GA

Lawrenceville, GA

Peachtree City in Sharpsburg, GA

Snellville, GA

Woodstock, GA

Chattanooga, TN

Murfreesboro, TN

Birmingham, AL

Essential Functions Of The Area Facilities Manager

  • Oversee the maintenance, repairs, costs, and expenses at all facilities within their defined area
  • Partner with both Regional/Area and Resort Managers to uphold premium resort standards
  • Manage a team of 6-8 maintenance associates and carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable federal and state laws
  • Work with Corporate HR on interviewing, hiring, and training new employees
  • Develop relationships and evaluate and monitor local pricing with local, regional and national vendors to solicit services and maintenance contracts for annual maintenance needs such as landscaping, pool, pest control, HVAC, etc.
  • Create a preventative maintenance plan and perform required audits to adhere to Premium Resort Pet Standards
  • Review P&L with Resort Managers on utility usage expenses at each location and participate in the development and implementation of energy efficiency
  • Oversee work planning, assignment, and direction; evaluate employee performance; provide recognition and corrective action as needed; handle concerns and effectively resolve issues
  • Ensure that locations are adhering to safety and environmental regulations by conducting regular safety inspections and maintaining a clean, hazard-free environment
  • Manage the purchasing of authorized supplies and maintain records, inventories, and budgets
  • Partner with Operations and Resort Managers on storm preparations and recovery

  • Ability to manage up to 8 maintenance associates and work in partnership with Corporate departments, including HR and Finance, to ensure policies and procedures are enforced and initiatives are communicated and undertaken
  • Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills including the ability to guide, direct, and motivate employees
  • Excellent organizational, time management, prioritization, and multitasking skills
  • Reliable and flexible to Resort needs
  • Consistently maintain a professional and positive attitude and motivate and drive employees
  • Ensure work is completed to the highest standard and delivered on time
  • Ability to develop rapport and effective working relationships with vendors and resort team members
  • Flexibility to resort schedule needs including days, night, weekends, holidays, and peak times; and availability for on-call emergencies
  • Up to 60% travel required
  • Comfortable being around dogs of all sizes

Education And Experience

  • A minimum of 5 years relevant experience in managing the maintenance and capital expenditures of a multiple building campus or corporate owned facilities
  • Technical school graduate and/or specialized skill certification(s) in one or more technical trades
  • Proven leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide employees
  • Strong knowledge of plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC, and general maintenance
  • Budget management experience with the ability to track expenses and optimize costs
  • A valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills
