Job summary

Sunrise Senior Living is seeking an Area Facilities Manager to oversee maintenance operations for a Hermosa Beach home community and support 5–7 additional communities. You will lead day-to-day facilities operations, ensure life-safety compliance, manage CMMS, and coordinate capital projects and vendor contracts.

The role requires 5+ years of facilities management experience, strong knowledge of building systems, and supervisory leadership.

Qualifications

• 5+ years facilities management experience
• Knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing and building systems
• Supervisory experience leading maintenance teams
• Ability to read blueprints and manage vendor contracts
• Strong problem-solving and time management skills
• Willingness to travel and work weekends as needed

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day facilities operations at the home community
• Support Maintenance Coordinators across the regional cluster
• Ensure compliance with life safety, AHJ, and regulatory requirements
• Oversee preventive maintenance and CMMS compliance
• Manage capital projects, vendor bids, and contract performance
• Provide 24-hour emergency response support as needed
• Conduct facility audits and semi-annual building reviews
• Train, coach, and mentor maintenance team members
• Assist with budgeting, expense control, and insurance claims
• Support new community openings and occupancy readiness standards
