Area Equipment Operator II / Rock Breaker (Finance)

Overview

Location: Lynchburg, VA
Reports To: Plant Manager

The Area Equipment Operator / Rock Breaker plays a vital role within our East Region. We seek a safety-oriented, experienced, and self-motivated individual. This position is responsible for the safe operation of various heavy equipment, specifically operating the rock breaker. Additional duties may include operating other machinery, performing equipment checks, general labor, and minor maintenance tasks. The company provides a vehicle to and from job sites with a fuel card.

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Operate equipment to support daily plant production and operations
  • Assist the plant supervisor with daily operations and maintenance
  • Inspect plant areas for belt repairs, screen changes, bearing replacements, and other maintenance needs
  • Perform welding and fabrication duties as required
  • Identify safety hazards and equipment malfunctions, responding appropriately
  • Follow directions accurately
  • Work evenings and weekends as necessary
  • Adhere strictly to safety protocols outlined in MSHA and OSHA guidelines
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
Skills & Knowledge
  • Experience operating large aggregate machinery such as excavators, bulldozers, and loaders
  • Welding and general mechanical knowledge preferred
  • Ability to adapt to changing project requirements, safety regulations, and operational strategies
  • Strong understanding of MSHA regulations
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
