Job summary

The Area Engineer at Lilly Medicine Foundry in Lebanon, Indiana, serves as the site SME for logistics buildings, tank farm, and related systems. You will support design, commissioning, qualification, startup, and readiness, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure compliant, reliable, and cost-effective operation.

Responsibilities include leading system documentation, SOP development, KPI monitoring, CAPA and change control, RCA investigations, and collaboration with Operations,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Chemical preferred).
• 5+ years of direct engineering experience with building, utility, tank farm, and logistics-related systems in an FDA-regulated industry.
• Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis; Lilly does not sponsor visas.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the SME with deep technical expertise for assigned systems in pharmaceutical manufacturing and support operations.
• Support risk assessment activities using FMEA.
• Lead or participate in projects and changes for systems within the logistics buildings and tank farm, including design, IV/OV/PQ, and capital delivery.
• Develop URS and test cases to demonstrate proper installation, qualification, startup, and maintained state.
• Develop SOPs and other documentation for assigned systems.
• Monitor KPIs and ensure compliance with internal/external requirements.
• Act as the single point of contact for compliance activities including deviations, change controls, and CAPAs.
• Collaborate to implement maintenance and reliability practices.
• Provide technical support to partner functions; support inspections/investigations.
• Maintain clear communication with customer groups.
