Job summary

United Rentals in Manassas, VA is seeking an Area Dispatcher to organize the daily dispatch of drivers for the metro area, ensuring safe and timely deliveries and exceptional customer service.

You will work with Operations Managers and Inside Sales Reps, monitor progress, optimize truck loads, and support branches with scheduling, equipment location, and delivery-time updates while upholding safety standards.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean record.
• Knowledge of DOT/Federal Motor Carrier rules and regulations.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee dispatch of drivers within the metro-area to maximize efficiency and customer delivery responsiveness.
• Monitor driver progress and adjust schedules as pick-up and delivery orders come in.
• Maximize truck loads outbound and inbound.
• Support branches in maintaining customer relations via phone regarding equipment location or delivery time.
• Demonstrate commitment to safety and conduct safety inspections per policies.
