Job summary

Daybreak is seeking an Area Director to oversee all aspects of care and team duties in the assigned area. You will work with the Regional Director to market services to the community and ensure services comply with IPC and waiver regulations.

The role requires extensive knowledge of HCS, DB-MD, DADS, TxHmL waivers and strong leadership to supervise administrative and clinical staff while maintaining employment law compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Assists Regional Director in marketing Daybreak services to the community; state schools, MRAs, etc.
  • Attends individual pre-placement meetings.
  • Ensures designated Team Member attends PDP meetings for all individuals.
  • Ensures services are provided as written on the IPC.
  • Ensures compliance with regulations of the waivers and related programs.
  • Audits service delivery notes and day habilitation notes.
  • Directly supervises Administrative Team Members, Support Managers, Day Habilitation Director and others as assigned.
  • Responsible for employment actions including interviewing, hiring, disciplining, evaluating and terminating employees.
  • Ensures all Team Members are trained on Daybreak policies and PDPs.
  • Ensures corrective action is followed if policies are violated.
  • Ensures compliance with employment laws.
  • Schedules pre-employment, random and post-accident drug screens.

Job description

Summary:

The Area Director oversees and manages all aspects of individual care and team member duties in assigned area.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
  • Assists Regional Director in marketing Daybreak services to the community; state schools, MRA’s, etc.
  • Attends individual pre-placement meetings.
  • Ensures that designated Team Member attends annual PDP meetings for all individuals. Area Director shall attend as necessary.
  • Ensures services are provided as written on the IPC.
  • Ensures compliance with all regulations of the TDMHMR, HCS, DADS, TxHmL and DB-MD Waiver programs, as applicable.
  • Audits service delivery notes and day habilitation notes.
    Supervisory Responsibilities:
    • Directly supervises Administrative Team Members, Support Managers, Day Habilitation Director, Nurses, Team Member Coordinators, and Maintenance Team Members as assigned.
    • Responsible for employment actions in respective area including, but not limited to, interviewing, hiring, disciplining, rewarding, evaluating and terminating of employees.
    • Ensures all Team Members are trained on the philosophy, policies and procedures of Daybreak and individual PDPs and needed support prior to working with an individual.
    • Ensures corrective action process is followed if Team Members fail to meet the required expectations of Daybreak or if Daybreak policies and/or procedures are violated.
    • Ensures compliance with all federal, state and local employment laws.
    • Schedules pre-employment, random and post-accident drug screens.

    Education and/or Experience:

    • Minimum of 5 years working with individuals with developmental disabilities.

    Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend instructions, manuals and other company documents. Exhibits above average oral communication skills.
