Job summary

Amentum is seeking an Area Control Center Supervisor to oversee ACC and RCC operations for Space Force launch activities in the United States. The role coordinates planning, staffing, and execution of aeronautical operations, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

The supervisor leads a team, ensures qualified personnel are available, and maintains training to meet DoD/USSF/FAA requirements while working hours may include non-duty times to support mission needs.

Qualifications

• Five years of related work experience in a technical or military environment.
• Three years of supervisory/management experience preferred.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Government Clearance; U.S. Citizenship required.
• Graduate of USAF/AWC/AWM or USN AIC course or equivalent air/weapons control training.
• Flexibility to work non-duty hours, including weekends.

Responsibilities

• Provide coaching and mentoring to personnel not meeting standards.
• Review work products to ensure quality and compliance with policies and procedures.
• Ensure ACC adheres to USSF, DoD, FAA regulations and inter-agency agreements.

Amentum is seeking an Area Control Center Supervisor for the Space Force Range Contract

Typical Duties

• Supervise the Area Control Center (ACC) and Range Control Center (RCC) and it’s employees through the planning and scheduling process for launch and aeronautical operations.
• Ensure control of airspace and air assets in support of launch operations, pre-launch tests, and aeronautical operations.
• Serve as the liaison between Amentum, the Space Launch Delta 30 (SLD 30), 2ROPS/DON, Range Customers, and hosted organizations for Range support requirements.
• Support launch and aeronautical operations in United States Space Force (USSF) certified Duty Air Controller (DAC), Air Controller (AC), Surface Area Surveillance Controller (SASC), and Instrumentation Controller (IC) positions.
• Ensure the ACC is staffed with qualified personnel needed to successfully plan and manage launch, landing, and aeronautical operations.
• Ensure personnel are properly trained to execute their responsibilities and receive initial and recurring guidance, instructions, and direction needed to ensure quality and timely service.
• Provide coaching and mentoring to personnel unable to meet Amentum standards for technical quality, customer service, or timeliness.
• Review work products prior to release to ensure quality products and consistency with Amentum operating instructions, policies, procedures, and organizational responsibilities.
• Ensure ACC adheres to USSF, Department of Defense (DoD), and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations, directives, inter-agency agreements, policies, and procedures.
• Develop and maintain procedures and work instructions in accordance with applicable SFRC’s Performance Work Statement (PWS) and Contract Deliverable (CDRL) requirements.
• Vigorously pursue initiatives to improve the quality, efficiencies, and timeliness of Section and SFRC enterprise solutions, products, or services.

Minimum Requirements

• Minimum of five (5) years of related work experience in a technical or military environment.
• Three (3) years of supervisory/management experience preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook)
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Government Clearance. Note: U.S. Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.
• Graduate of a USAF Air Weapons Controller/Air Weapons Manager, or USN Air Intercept Controllers Course or equivalent air or weapons control training program.
• Flexibility to work non-duty hours, or on weekends, to support specific project or mission requirements.

Salary and Other Compensation

The annual starting salary for this position is between $100,000–$118,000 annually. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position may be eligible for bonus or long-term incentive compensation awards.
