Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Range Systems Section Supervisor for the Space Force Range Contract. This role provides leadership and direction to supervisors and technicians responsible for O&M functions in Data Handling and Range Safety, ensuring training, qualifications and compliance with government standards.

You will ensure procedures are developed and maintained, schedule personnel, monitor performance, and manage maintenance activities to meet mission requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or four years direct experience in science, engineering or business management.
• Five or more years in operation and maintenance of instrumentation, facilities and infrastructure with at least five years in a supervisory role.
• Strong interpersonal and analytical skills to interact with multiple customer organizations and personnel.
• Knowledge of local and remote environment range missions and relevant manuals and drawings.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Government Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and direction to workforce responsible for O&M functions in Data Handling and Range Safety.
• Ensure personnel are selected, trained, and qualified per contract requirements and government standards.
• Develop and maintain procedures describing current standards, performance, reporting and documentation.
• Schedule operations and maintenance to meet mission requirements and recall staff as needed.
• Monitor performance, detect deviations, and provide feedback.
• Ensure infrastructure readiness and timely preventive/corrective maintenance.
• Document degradation, failures, and maintenance per contract standards.
• Ensure compliance with contract security standards and procedures.
• Oversee procurement and stock of material to meet mission requirements.
• Ensure HR policies are understood and applied in coordination with HR.
• Support quality program compliance and participate in process improvements.
• Provide technical advice on operability, maintainability, and potential new technologies.

Amentum is seeking a Range Systems Section Supervisor for the Space Force Range Contract

Typical Duties

• Provide leadership, management, technical and professional direction to the workforce through supervisors and technicians responsible for O&M functions in the areas of Data Handling and Range Safety
• Ensure operations and maintenance personnel are selected, trained, and qualified to meet contract requirements, government standards and in accordance with Collective Bargaining Agreement
• Ensure procedures are developed and maintained to clearly describe current, approved procedures, performance standards, reporting, documentation requirements, and manage deviations from procedures using root cause analysis process
• Ensure operations and maintenance personnel are scheduled to meet contract and mission requirements and personnel are recalled when needed to meet emergency requirements
• Ensure the performance of all operations and maintenance personnel are effectively and proactively monitored to detect deviations and deficiencies and provide constructive feedback where required
• Ensure the infrastructure and facilities are properly prepared, checked, and ready to meet mission requirements
• Ensure preventive and corrective maintenance is performed in a timely and effective manner consistent with established standards and requirements
• Ensure infrastructure degradation, failures, and maintenance outages are documented and reported in a timely way consistent with Amentum contract standards and requirements
• Ensure all operations are conducted in accordance with Amentum contract personnel, facility, and system security standards and policies
• Ensures material, supplies, and property are ordered, stocked, and controlled to meet mission requirements consistent with Amentum contract standards
• Ensure Human Resource's policies are known, understood, carried out and disciplinary action is performed in a consistent manner in concert with Human Resources
• Ensure compliance with Amentum quality program requirements and standards and participate in Amentum and government process improvement initiatives
• Provide technical advice to Amentum management, staff, and government personnel on issues, anticipated operability, maintainability, or logistical problems, potential new technologies, and participate in the planning and integration of new or modified facilities and systems
• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in science, engineering, businessmanagementdiscipline, or four years of direct experience
• Five or more (5+) years ofexperience with operation and maintenance of instrumentation, facilities, and infrastructurewith at least five years at a supervisory level
• Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with multiple customer organizations, local government, Amentum management, and employees on operational, technical, and personnel issues
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to prioritize work despite changing schedules and meet deadlines
• Knowledge of local and remote environment range missions
• Knowledge of equipment manuals, technical orders, product specification sheets, blueprints, drawings, and engineering concepts
• Knowledge of the type of operations, calibrations, and maintenance of the instruments supporting Vandenberg Space Force Base mission
• Proficient at electronic, mechanical, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining system equipment
• Must be comfortable with managing a multi-cultural workforce
• Must be comfortable with operating a lean, high-performance organization within government provided facilities

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Government Clearance. Note: U.S. Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.

Salary and Other Compensation

• The annual starting salary for this position is between $110,000-$130,000 annually. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

Compensation Details:
