Job summary

Summit Spine and Joint Centers in Georgia seeks a full-time Area Charge Nurse to support Gainesville, Braselton, and Lawrenceville clinics, with readiness to travel to other metro Atlanta sites as needed. The ideal candidate holds a GA RN license in good standing, brings 4+ years of nursing experience and 1+ year of management, and will ensure high-quality patient care in ambulatory settings.

Qualifications

• Current Georgia RN license in good standing.
• Nursing Compact License preferred; must obtain within first 90 days of employment.
• 4+ years of nursing experience.
• 1+ years of nursing management experience preferred.
• Experience with regulatory certification processes preferred.
• Charge Nurse experience will be given top priority.
• Ability to travel to ASC locations across listed Regions.
• BLS and ACLS Certification.
• Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Support certification efforts from a nursing perspective for inspections.
• Direct patient care in the ambulatory care setting.
• Manage staff members in the surgery centers.
• Establish personal rapport with patients.
• Orient and train nurses; create nurse schedules.
• Ensure daily tasks are completed by nurses and staff.
• Provide a compassionate environment for patients and staff.
• Establish patient care goals.
• Teach and counsel patients and staff.
• Reinforce understanding of disease, medications and self-care skills.
• Answer questions from patients or staff.
• Resolve patient needs via a multidisciplinary team approach.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
• Protect patients and staff by supporting infection-control policies and protocols.
• Enforce medication administration and controlled substance regulations.
• Ensure operation of medical and administrative equipment; inventory and maintenance.
• Ensure compliance with policies regarding operations, fire, safety and infection control.
• Effectively communicate directives and encourage departmental meetings.
• Maintain nursing supplies inventory.
• Foster cooperative relationships and problem solving.
• Align with nursing division's philosophy and standard of care.
