Job summary

HDR is seeking a Washington Area Administrative Manager to lead administrative operations across Bellevue, Everett, Olympia, Spokane, Seattle and nearby offices. You will develop policies, supervise staff, manage records, support area leadership, and coordinate internal communications.

The role requires a minimum of 10 years in engineering/architecture/construction admin, an associate degree, and advanced MS Office skills.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent and 10+ years related experience.
  • Associates degree preferred with extensive knowledge of administrative processes.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and SharePoint essential.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate, develop and administer area administrative policies and procedures.
  • Take responsibility for area wide office administrative operations.
  • Supervise area-wide administrative support personnel.
  • Interview all administrative support personnel, process resumes for all staff positions, and maintain companywide and local office records for personnel and other HR requirements.
  • Assist the area leadership with personnel administration, executive administrative support, and preparation of operating plans and other special reports.
  • Execute electronic signatory procedures for contracts, proposals, and business forms.
  • Maintain a record of assigned workstations in the office and coordinate with internal I.T. team when staff relocate to new workstations.
  • Manage area communications, including SharePoint site, scheduling and preparing materials for meetings.
  • Assist with the coordination of internal staff events.
  • Support employee engagement committees.
  • Oversee reception desk coverage and ensure back-up for other administrative team members as needed.
  • Coordinate arrangements for temporary clerical assistance as needed.
  • Participate in monthly meetings with area leadership.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

In the role of Washington Area Administrative Manager, we’ll count on you to:

Preferred Qualifications

  • 10+ years professional experience in the Engineering, Architecture, or Construction industry as an office administrator/manager
  • Associates degree
  • Comfortable handling confidential information
  • Experience developing internal processes and electronic filing systems

The expected compensation range for this position depends upon skills, experience, education and geographical location. (Stated benefits are for full‑time regular positions.
