Job summary

The State of Washington, through WSDOT, is seeking a Highway Maintenance Supervisor to lead Area 5 Specialty Crews. You will supervise highway maintenance workers, plan and budget maintenance activities, and ensure safety and efficiency across multiple subsections.

Collaboration with engineers, PIOs, and the Traffic Management Center is essential to deliver reliable transportation services. You will mentor staff, manage resources, and support landscaping and NPDES program tasks while maintaining

Qualifications

• Advanced highway maintenance knowledge and practices evidenced by experience as a HW Maint Worker 3/4 or similar.
• Ability to lead or supervise crews and provide clear direction in high-pressure situations.
• Strong planning, budgeting, scheduling, and resource coordination skills in maintenance operations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Area 5 Specialty Crews and daily road maintenance tasks across subsections.
• Plan, schedule, prioritize, and direct highway maintenance crews (HMW1–HMW3) across multiple subsections.
• Coordinate with engineers, PIOs, and TMC operators to ensure safe and efficient operations.
• Monitor equipment, materials, and personnel needs for special projects and coordinate repairs.
