Job summary

Cargolux in Houston is seeking a compliance professional to support the Compliance Department in establishing and implementing an effective compliance program for Area 1, covering the Americas. The role includes ongoing advisory support to Area 1 on daily compliance matters and travel as needed.

The position involves monitoring and reporting the results of Compliance and Ethics efforts for Area 1, and providing guidance to senior management on compliance issues related to Area 1.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar position or similar responsibilities.
• Higher education degree, preferably in Legal or International Affairs.
• High degree of verbal & written English is mandatory.
• Ethics-oriented with a strong moral compass.
• Trustworthy, honest and integral.
• Strong reporting and organizational skills, including maintenance and updating documentation databases.
• Excellent communication & social skills.
• Experience in training is considered an advantage.
• People and team oriented with the capacity to work independently as well.
• Ability to multi-task between several open projects; good time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Compliance Department in establishing and implementing an effective compliance program to prevent illegal, unethical, or improper conduct with special regard to the Americas, Area 1.
• Advising and assisting Area 1 in various day-to-day compliance matters.
• Monitoring and reporting results of the Compliance and Ethics efforts of Area 1 of the Company.
• Provide guidance for the Compliance Department and senior management on matters relating to Compliance, especially those related to Area 1.
• Implement all necessary actions to ensure achievement of the objectives of an effective Compliance program in Area 1.
• Support the Compliance department in any arising issue, as determined by their line manager or the Chief Compliance Officer.
