Job summary

Qualifications

• Valid Texas Special Education teaching certificate or similar credential.
• Master’s degree from an accredited college preferred.
• Knowledge of ARD/IEP processes and IDEA/TEC requirements.
• Strong organization and communication skills.
• Ability to manage conflicts with a student-centered focus.
• Proficient with Excel, Word, Gmail and Google Calendar.
• Strong written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Identifies ARD needs and schedules ARDs (various types) per district/state guidelines.
• Monitors timelines and conducts ARD committee meetings within TEC requirements.
• Schedules transfer and Permanent Placement ARDs and related tasks.
• Interprets records from previous districts to ensure FAPE upon enrollment.
• Confirms ARD meeting times with parents and students.
• Collaborates with professionals and parents to support ARD processes.
• Documents ARD decisions in the IEP system.
• Maintains confidentiality per FERPA and district policy.
