Job summary

UIC Municipal Services, LLC seeks a Utility Systems Specialist to maintain and repair water and wastewater facilities across North Slope villages. You will monitor operations, ensure regulatory compliance, and coordinate with local operators to resolve leaks and service issues.

Responsibilities include daily reporting, emergency protocol implementation, and rotating lead operator duties. The role requires Alaska certification progress within 12 months, respirator fit test, and a valid driver's

Qualifications

• Must possess a Level II or be able to obtain a level II within 12 calendar months after hire in Water and Wastewater Treatment Operator Certificates issued by the State of Alaska.
• Ability to pass a respirator fit test
• Valid driver's license
• High school diploma or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Ensure Alaska DEC compliance of utility plants.
• Maintain a safe working environment and report safety concerns.
• Oversee local resident utility operators as needed.
• Daily reporting to central office by phone or email.
• Operate and maintain water and wastewater treatment facilities and distribution systems.
• Monitor plant operation via SCADA and visual observation.
• Regulate flows and perform chemical analyses.
• Coordinate water/sewer repairs with local village supervisor.
• Lead operator when the local operator is absent.
• Perform 24-hour call-outs and support varied shifts.
