Job summary

Qavvik Air is seeking a Ramp Agent in Kotzebue, Alaska to provide safe, efficient ground support for flights and operations. You will work outdoors year-round, assist with aircraft marshalling, baggage handling, and passenger support while maintaining safety and teamwork in a dynamic Arctic environment.

You will interact with flight crews, cargo teams, and customers, following procedures to ensure on-time departures and secure arrivals.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Ability to obtain airport identification and security credentials.
• Ability to successfully complete required safety, security, HAZMAT, equipment, and ramp training.
• Ability to safely work around aircraft, vehicles, machinery, and ground-support equipment.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers, flight crews, passengers, and customers.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime when operationally necessary.
• Previous aviation, airport, warehouse, freight, cargo, construction, equipment‑operation, or similar experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Marshal aircraft into and out of designated parking areas.
• Assist with aircraft arrival, parking, securing, and departure.
• Load and unload passenger baggage, freight, mail, supplies, and other cargo.
• Transport baggage and cargo between aircraft, hangar, terminal/customer areas, vehicles, and designated storage locations.
• Assist passengers traveling between designated passenger areas and aircraft boarding.
• Provide additional mobility assistance to passengers when needed.
• Assist with aircraft grounding, fueling, and ground-support activities as trained.
• Snow and ice removal from ramp and related areas as required.
• Operate ground-support equipment and company vehicles per training and authorization.
• Travel up to 10% within Alaska for operational needs.
