Job summary

Worley in Prudhoe Bay, AK is seeking a Project Structural Welder/Fitter (Construction) to fabricate and weld structural components according to blueprints and specifications. The role requires reading engineering drawings, selecting welding processes, and ensuring fit-up and weld quality.

Candidates must have at least three years of structural welding experience, pass weld tests (SMAW/FCAW), and hold NSTC certification or be willing to complete training.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years’ experience in structural welding and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must pass structural weld test upon offer, including SMAW and FCAW welds, D1.1 code, and ASME Section IX.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to be covered by Worley auto insurer.
• NSTC certification or Worley-provided NSTC training.
• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• NSTC certification is preferred or required.

Responsibilities

• Lay out, fit, and weld fabricated, cast, and forged components to assemble structural forms per blueprints and specifications.
• Select equipment and plans layout, assembly, and welding; apply knowledge of metallurgy and weld shrinkage.
• Lay out, position, align, and fit components; bolt, clamp, and tack-weld for welding.
• Weld in flat, horizontal, vertical, or overhead positions and inspect bead size.
• Repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts.
• Complete records and perform cleanup and housekeeping.
