Job summary

The University of Georgia Libraries is seeking a Processing Specialist for the Libraries-Hargrett Library in the Athens Area. The role focuses on accessioning and processing collections, supervising student workers, and providing reference service to library patrons.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and 2 years of related experience.
• Ability to work effectively with patrons, donors, and colleagues.
• Experience with ArchivesSpace, DACS, and EAD.

Responsibilities

• Assists in processing collections by arranging and describing materials per DACS standards.
• Re-houses collections, edits and creates records in ArchivesSpace
• Uploads files and re-indexes finding aids in SCLFind; accessioning new collections.
• Supervises and trains student assistants.
• Provides reference to the University community and the general public.
