Job summary

Minnesota Public Radio | American Public Media is offering an Internship in the MPR Archives. You will process materials, contribute to finding aids and metadata creation, and help develop digital collections to ensure catalog records are accurate and accessible to staff and the public.

The internship emphasizes archival workflows, digitization practices, and professional development in a structured program within a public media environment.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in college or university, or graduated within the past 18 months.
• Available full-time (40 hours/week, Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.).
• Basic understanding of archival concepts.
• Basic understanding of navigating digital collections databases.
• Proficiency with common computer applications.

Responsibilities

• Identify and provide access to historical materials to support ongoing organizational projects (ex: preparations for MPR's 60th anniversary).
• Inventory and catalog archival materials.
• Curate a publicly accessible digital collection.
