Burgess & Niple Architecture is seeking an Architecture Lead to shape the future of our Virginia practice. You will serve as the primary client leader, building lasting relationships, driving business development, and delivering top-notch project experiences.

You'll mentor staff, manage budgets and schedules, and oversee project performance while upholding design excellence and client satisfaction across transformative projects in the region.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture from an NAAB-accredited program required; Master of Architecture preferred.
  • Registered Architect or eligibility for reciprocal licensure through NCARB.
  • 15+ years of professional experience.
  • Proven track record building and maintaining client relationships.
  • Excellent communication skills with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Combine architectural expertise with business development to grow the practice and deliver exceptional projects.
  • Foster new client relationships from initial contact through project completion.
  • Extend and maintain existing client relationships.
  • Drive business development, including marketing initiatives, proposals, and presentations.
  • Mentor and manage staff, fostering a collaborative environment.
  • Participate in project delivery to ensure outstanding client experiences.

Shape the future of our architectural practice while leading transformative projects as our Architecture Lead. In this pivotal role, you'll serve as the primary client leader for B&N Architecture in the Virigina region, building lasting relationships, driving business development, and delivering exceptional project experiences. You'll orchestrate the growth of our practice through strategic client engagement while mentoring talented staff and maintaining the highest standards of design excellence.

What You'll Do
  • Combine technical architectural expertise with business development acumen to grow our practice while delivering exceptional projects that exceed client expectations
  • Foster new client relationships from initial contact through project completion
  • Extend and help maintain existing established and successful relationships
  • Drive business development, including marketing initiatives, proposals, and presentations (with support from our Marketing and Communications team)
  • Mentor and manage staff, fostering a collaborative environment
  • Actively participate in project delivery to ensure outstanding client experiences
  • Oversee project performance, budgets, schedules, and risk management
Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture from an NAAB-accredited program required; Master of Architecture from an NAAC-accredited program preferred
  • Registered Architect in the state of employment, or eligibility for reciprocal licensure through NCARB certification
  • 15+ years of professional experience
  • Proven track record building and maintaining client relationships
  • Excellent communication skills with keen attention to detail
  • Adaptable and self-motivated with an entrepreneurial mindset as well as a proactive approach to problem solving
