Job summary

At AtkinsRéalis, an Architectural Intern in our Alexandria, VA office, joins a team supporting all project phases from schematic design to construction administration. You will help develop graphics for presentations and assist with CAD to construction document updates, site visits, and research to inform design decisions.

The role emphasizes entry-level to student-level participation, with opportunities for mentorship and a robust benefits package as described in the posting.

  • No experience is generally required if accepted into an accredited Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in a related technical field.

Overview

AtkinsRéalis is seeking an Architectural Intern to join our Alexandria, VA office.

Your Role
  • Support all phases of projects, from schematic design through construction administration.
  • Assist with the development of graphics for presentations and reports.
  • Provide AutoCAD and Revit support by incorporating redline markups into construction documents.
  • Conduct occasional site visits to assess existing facilities and support new project development.
  • Perform project-related research to support design decisions and finish material selections.
  • Assist with construction administration activities, including submittal reviews, project filing, and document organization.
About You
  • EXPERIENCE: No experience is generally required if accepted into an accredited Bachelor'S or Master's degree program in a related technical field.
  • EDUCATION: Must have completed 20 hours towards an architecture degree from an accredited program by the start of the internship (Summer 2027).
  • SPECIAL SKILLS Basic computer skills required to enter data into spreadsheets or databases, REVIT Modeling , clash detection and Rhino experience highly desirable.

Additional Information

Expected compensation range is between $19 - $25 hourly depending on skills, experience, and geographical location.
