Job summary

Gray AES is seeking an Architecture Assistant Design Manager for our Atlanta, GA and Dallas, TX offices. The role leads architectural and design staff, coordinating with the project team to deliver integrated design solutions across disciplines.

The candidate will drive technical excellence, manage design schedules and cost estimates, and oversee QA/QC for design documentation, while maintaining adherence to standards and pursuing professional growth in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture and minimum five years of related experience.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and Bluebeam; knowledge of project-specific applications.
• Experience designing in Revit and producing architectural drawings.
• Excellent organization, communication, interpersonal and team coordination skills.
• Energetic, collaborative mindset with ability to handle dynamic projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor architectural and design staff, fostering growth.
• Collaborate with Project Team to define roles and ensure shared ownership.
• Develop and support proposals, design schedules, and cost estimates.
• Review design proposals and serve as design lead on smaller proposals (<$10M).
• Research design strategies, codes, and regulatory requirements.
• Consult with Customer to determine functional and spatial requirements.
• Support QA/QC for design docs across disciplines.
• Support submission of design documents to authorities.
• Maintain adherence to standards and best practices.
• Review deliverables from technicians and subconsultants.
• Support construction administration tasks (submittals, RFIs, site visits).
• Other duties as assigned.
